Comme un ghetto-blaster qu’on aurait oublié d’éteindre au fond d’un sweatshop peu scrupuleux, le nouvel EP de Peow Beow, CONTREFAÇON réassemble de toutes pièces les sonorités de la bass-music. Faussaire mais artiste, le producteur crée un simulacre de club music : s’il conserve l’efficacité des rythmiques footwork et la puissance de leur kicks, c’est pour mieux brouiller les pistes par la suite. S’assurant une traçabilité zéro, Peow Beow crypte chaque élément des 6 tracks qui composent l’EP : les glitchs règnent en contremaîtres dans une usine où les machines sont toutes plus poussiéreuses les unes que les autres. Vitesse moyenne mesurée : 160bpm.

Dans une errance paranoïaque et hallucinée dans l'univers de la contrefaçon, Peow Beow y apporte un regard critique et ironique, inspiré par ses flâneries dans les marchés aux puces (en tant que bon Montreuillois, c’est un habitué) et par les reportages télé racoleurs du dimanche soir.

Like a forgotten ghetto-blaster left on in the depths of an unscrupulous sweatshop, Peow Beow's new EP, 'CONTREFAÇON,' meticulously reassembles bass music's soundscape. A forger yet an artist, the producer crafts a simulacrum of club music: retaining the effectiveness of footwork rhythms and the power of their kicks, only to cleverly blur the tracks thereafter. Ensuring zero traceability, Peow Beow encrypts every element within the 6 tracks comprising the EP: glitches reign as foremen in a factory where machines are all dustier than the next. Average speed measured: 160bpm.

In a paranoid and hallucinated wander through the realm of counterfeiting, Peow Beow offers a critical and ironic perspective, drawn from strolls through flea markets (as a true Montreuillois, he's a regular) and sensationalist Sunday night TV reports.
